Walmart pumps $600 million as Flipkart looks to raise $1 billion in funding
Ecommerce major Flipkart is in talks to raise as much as $1 billion, with parent Walmart committing to inject $600 million. The fresh fundraise is likely to value Flipkart at about a 5-10% premium to its latest valuation of around $33 billion.
UPI AutoPay top of charts in low-ticket recurring payments
The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has emerged as the most popular consumer payments mechanism. But now, it is increasingly being used for recurring payments. Large banks like State Bank of India ( SBI), HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, among others are leading in terms of bank accounts being used for such transactions.
Zomato offers to acquire Shiprocket for $2 billion
Listed food-delivery platform Zomato has made an offer to acquire privately held ecommerce shipping startup Shiprocket, Bloomberg reported. Zomato’s proposal to acquire Shiprocket values it at about $2 billion.
Beauty brand Plum's FY23 revenue rises 71% to Rs 322 crore
Direct-to-consumer (D2C) beauty brand Plum saw its total revenue rise 71% year-on-year to reach Rs 322 crore in FY23, though its net loss also widened at a similar clip.
Funding Deals
GreyOrange, an automated robotic fulfillment and inventory optimization software, has raised $135 million in the first close of its Series D funding round led by Anthelion Capital. Existing investors such as Mithril, 3State Ventures, and Blume Ventures also participated in the round.
BluSmart Mobility, an EV ride-hailing service and EV charging superhub infrastructure operator, has raised $24 million in a new equity round. According to the company, the round saw participation and over-subscription from existing investors, founders and the leadership team.
Eyewear brand Enrico Eyewear has raised Rs 2.1 crore in a pre-seed round led by 100X.VC.
New age home decor and lifestyle brand Nestroots has raised Rs 3 crore in its pre-seed round led by BeyondSeed Singapore. Arjun Vaidya, marquee D2C mentor and investor, has also participated in the round and has also come on board as a mentor.
