Apple, Google Play Store block two apps after India ban
Tech giants Google and Apple have removed the international e-SIM apps Airalo and Holafly from their Indian app stores following directives from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). Airalo and Holafly sell e-SIMs for multiple countries and regions.
Uber India sees revenue climb 54% to Rs 2,666 crore
Online mobility platform Uber India’s operating revenue grew 54% on year to Rs 2,666 crore in FY23, as the company's ride-hailing business saw a significant improvement during the period. Further, net losses also widened during the year to Rs 311 crore, from Rs 197 crore in FY22.
Indian firms for ‘ONDC of App Store’ to break free from tech’s ‘walled garden’
Indian developers have called for building the “ONDC of the app store” or an open network store to take on big technology companies’ dominance on the app play stores which facilitates downloading of their apps.
SentinelOne acquires Peak XV-backed cybersecurity startup PingSafe
Artificial intelligence-driven cybersecurity platform SentinelOne is set to acquire PingSafe in a cash and stock deal. California-based SentinelOne is an autonomous cybersecurity solution company that has acquired three companies to date.

Children-focused snacking and meal brand Slurrp Farm, has raised Rs 59.9 crore ( $7.2 million approximately) in a fresh round of investment from new and existing investors. Existing investors Fireside Venture and Raed Capital pumped in Rs 12.4 crore and Rs 5.48 crore, respectively, while the new investors Alkemi Ventures and Madhurima International contributed Rs 17.5 crore each. Sharrp Ventures (investment office of the Harsh Mariwala family) also participated with Rs 7 crore.
Zerodha-backed venture fund Rainmatter has invested Rs 28 crore (around $3.5 million) in fitness startup Fittr.
Battery cell manufacturer Rincell Corporation has raised $1.2 million in a seed round led by US-based NextGen Battery Chem Ventures LLC, managed by globally-renowned venture capitalist, Sandiip Bhammer.
Kidbea, a bamboo-based kids’ fashion brand, has raised $1 million in funding in a pre-series A round led by early-stage investment firm Venture Catalysts.
Human resource tech startup InCruiter has secured Rs 1.1 crore from revenue-based financing platform GetVantage.
