Pocket FM-parent launches webcomic platform Pocket Toons
Pocket Entertainment, the newly restructured parent company of Pocket FM and Pocket Novel, has launched Pocket Toons, an AI-first comics (webcomics) platform that uses AI to transform storytelling and content creation. AI-powered studio Blaze! enables creators to produce high-quality, episodic content 20 times faster than industry standards, all while slashing production costs to just a third of the usual.
‘Pokémon Go’ maker nears $3.5 billion deal to sell games unit
Niantic Inc., the company behind the 2016 hit Pokémon Go, is in talks to sell its video-game business to Saudi Arabia-owned Scopely Inc. A deal could be announced in coming weeks. The price being discussed is about $3.5 billion, according to one of the people. Any agreement would involve the Pokémon title as well as other mobile games.
Elon Musk’s Tesla begins hiring in India
Elon Musk’s automotive and clean energy company, Tesla Inc., has officially launched its recruitment drive in India, marking its much-anticipated entry into the domestic electric vehicle market. The company has announced 13 job openings on its official website, offering roles in vehicle services, sales, operations, and business support specifically in the Mumbai region. On Linkedin, Tesla also posted a job opening for a customer engagement manager.
Funding Deals
Cloud and data centre networking solutions provider Lightstorm has raised Rs 700 crore (around $80.5 million) in funding led by NIIF Infrastructure Finance Limited (NIIF IFL).
Enterprise AI startup Singulr AI has raised $10 million in its seed round led by Nexus Venture Partners and Dell Technologies Capital.
IoT Communications and data analytics startup Probus Smart Things has raised $5 million in Series A1 led by Unicorn India Ventures. The round also saw participation from US-based and Indian family offices.
Healthfab, a reusable period panty brand, has raised $1 million in its pre-Series A funding round led by Mistry Ventures along with participation from BeyondSeed, Thrive Ventures, and distinguished investors such as Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, and Peyush Bansal.
Visa processing platform Atlys has acquired the UK subsidiary of visa service company Artionis in an all-cash deal to expand overseas.
