PhysicsWallah converts to public entity ahead of 2025 IPO
Edtech unicorn PhysicsWallah is gearing up for a definitive initial public offering (IPO) plan in 2025, taking its first major step toward public listing by converting into a public entity. The board at PhysicsWallah has approved a resolution to change its status to a public company and rename it from PhysicsWallah Private Limited to PhysicsWallah Limited, as per its regulatory filing.
Infosys, TCS, Wipro to HCL Tech: IT stocks rise after strong Accenture earnings
Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, HCL Technologies, Wipro and other IT stocks climbed up to 1 per cent in early trade on Friday, December 20 after a strong performance by Accenture in the first quarter added to investor confidence. The share price of Accenture Plc at $372.16 had ended with gains of 7.03% in the last trading session.
Micromax, Phison Electronics form JV to develop storage chips
Indian mobile phone company Micromax Informatics has tied up with Taiwanese NAND storage chip maker Phison to develop high-end storage products for enterprise, automotive and AI models. The 55:45 joint venture, called MiPhi, has started manufacturing the storage chips or solid-state drives (SSDs) from Micromax's Greater Noida facility and will train users on integrating the chips with existing infrastructure.
MSRTC to add 3,500 new buses to its fleet in 2025
The Maharashtra State Road and Transport Corporation will induct 3,500 new buses in its dwindling fleet in 2025 and check issues like breakdown of vehicles and long wait time for passengers, an official said. Addressing a press conference in Nagpur on Wednesday, MSRTC Chairman Bharat Gogawale said they have decided to purchase 2,200 buses for their own fleet, besides hiring 1,300 buses on lease.
Funding Deals
AI-focused healthtech startup Confido Health has $3 million in its seed round led by Together Fund. The round also saw participation from MedMountain Ventures, Rebellion VC, DeVC, Operators Studio, and strategic healthcare operators.
Fitsol, a decarbonization platform designed for the manufacturing industry, has raised $1 million in its seed round from Transition VC.
Nazara Technologies’ subsidiary NODWIN Gaming has announced acquiring another 93% stake in gaming and esports media company AFK Gaming for Rs 7.6 crore via cash and equity swaps.
SaaS startup MBG Card has raised Rs 2.72 crore in a new round led by Inflection Point Ventures. The round also saw participation from Velocity and Klub.
