Mankind Pharma acquires Bharat Serums and Vaccines
Mankind Pharma has completed the transaction to acquire Bharat Serums and Vaccines Ltd (BSV), for a consideration of Rs 13,768 crore. This strategic move marks a significant leap for the company, positioning it as a market leader in the Indian women's health and fertility drug market alongside access to other high entry barrier products in the critical care segment with established complex R&D tech platforms, the drug maker said in a statement.
Uber India bets big on two and three-wheeler markets; needs push for EV fleet
Uber India, having transitioned from being primarily a four-wheeler ride-hailing platform, is seeing increasing growth in the two- and three-wheeler markets. “We were a car-based service for the longest time, but now two- and three-wheelers are our fastest-growing segments," Uber India and South Asia President Prabhjeet Singh told ET on Wednesday, adding that this transition is attracting a new pool of drivers and consumers, significantly changing the growth dynamics for the company.
Shiprocket’s revenue grows to Rs 1,316 Cr in FY24, cuts losses
Logistics and supply chain enabler Shiprocket has managed decent growth in the fiscal year ending March 2024. Its co-founder and chief executive officer Sahil Goel claimed that the company’s operating revenue grew 21% year-on-year and reached Rs 1,316 crore in the last fiscal year.
Funding Deals
Zouk, a direct-to-consumer bags and luggage brand, has raised $10 million in its Series B funding round, led by Aavishkaar Group. This round also saw participation from Stellaris Venture Partners, Titan Capital, Sharrp Ventures, and the JJ Family, bringing Zouk’s total funding to $14.5 million.
OLOID, a workplace technology provider, has completed a $6 million Series A1 funding round led by Yaletown Partners, Exposition Ventures, George Kaiser Family Foundation, and Carya Ventures.
WishNew Wellness, a wellness brand co-founded by Karan Khurana and Pranshu Singh, has raised $250,000 in its angel funding round, achieving a valuation of $5.65 million. The round was led by Ankit Khnadelwal, with notable contributions from DotPe co-founder Gyanesh Sharma, Abhijeet Rana, and Ashish Singh.
