Generative AI came into vogue with the launch of Al tools by OpenAl. The madness has gone so big that major tech platforms are integrating it into their products to stay relevant in the changing dynamics.
To keep you updated with the new technology, here is all you need to know about Generative Al.
The Al technology guides models to create output with the help of machine learning. New models like ChatGPT and DALL-E can produce exclusive content including text, image, machine codes and more after the required training. ChatGPT, the famed chatbot of the company, is powered by a large language model that accepts queries in text and delivers a conversational answer as a result.
GPT-4 is the latest attempt to fine-tune the underlying tech behind the chatbot. It is a multi-modal model that can generate text output with the help of images. Reuters, in a report, mentioned the example of OpenAl's president generating a website from a hand-drawn mockup.
The tech is doing rounds of several businesses to leverage their efficiency and optimise the workload. For example, the news agency reported that CarMax Inc used OpenAl's tech to summarise customer reviews to help buyers zero down their choices on one car.
Apart from this, Al can take summary notes, draft emails, and create other office resources. Microsoft and Google have demonstrated similar generative Al in their work and personal suite. Though it can be a boon for corporates, the technology has been in question for potential misuse in the education sector. We have seen generative Al do homework.
Writing essays is now a cakewalk for students. It is the biggest concern of educational institutions.
On the other side, the tech is still undergoing improvements. This makes it prone to factual discrepancies and abrupt responses at times. Reuters, quoting cybersecurity researchers, have expressed concerns about Al generating misinformation.
OpenAl has been the change maker in the generative Al space. The (now) famous company had a popular co-founder who left in 2018. To your surprise, Elon Musk was among the co-founders of the startup. But left to avoid conflict with Tesla's Al research, Reuters adds.
Musk has actively expressed his concerns about the technology. "It's quite a dangerous technology. I fear I may have done some things to accelerate it," he said earlier this month, according to the news agency.
