Groww nears 13 Mn active users in November, INDmoney overtakes Paytm Money
Bengaluru-based fintech unicorn Groww continues to dominate the Indian stockbroking space, expanding its lead over competitors by achieving a milestone of 12.88 million active clients in November 2024. This translates to a commanding 26.35% market share, according to the latest data from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Groww added 2,82,577 new users in November alone.
Amazon pledges $120 Mn for startups digitizing Indian manufacturing
Amazon on Tuesday announced a series of initiatives at the fifth edition of its annual ‘Smbhav Summit.’ As part of the summit, Amazon signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to support the government’s key priority of establishing India as a global manufacturing hub. Amazon has allocated $120 million from its Smbhav Venture Fund to invest in startups that digitize consumer goods manufacturing in India.
Amazon to launch quick commerce deliveries in India amid boom in segment
Ecommerce marketplace Amazon India will launch a 15-minute delivery service - marking its foray into the rapidly growing quick commerce sector - from Bengaluru later this month. This is the first time Amazon is launching quick service globally. The etailer is still relatively a late entrant to the buzzy quick commerce sector.
Mobikwik raises Rs 257.4 crore from anchor investors ahead of IPO launch
Fintech platform Mobikwik's parent firm has raised Rs 257.4 crore from anchor investors, the company reported to the stock exchanges in a filing on Tuesday. The company said that it has allocated 9.2 million shares at Rs 279 per equity share.
Funding Deals
Supply-chain financing startup Mintifi has raised $180 million in a Series E funding round co-led by Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG) and global investment firm Prosus. Existing backer Premji Invest also participated in the fundraise.
CarDekho SEA, the Southeast Asia business unit of digital automotive solutions provider CarDekho Group, has raised its first external funding round of $60 million led by growth and private equity investors Navis Capital Partners (Navis) and Dragon Fund.
Industrial robotics maker Haber has raised $44 million in its Series C round led by Creaegis, BEENEXT, and Accel.
Cloud-based testing platform LambdaTest has secured $38 million in a funding round led by Avataar Ventures, with Qualcomm Ventures also participating.
Bengaluru-based NBFC Avanti Finance has raised $14.2 million (Rs 120 crore) in its Series B round from Dia Vikas Capital, existing investors IDH Farmfit Fund, NRJN Family Trust, Rabo Partnerships and select HNIs. The company’s early investors include The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Oiko Credit & Nomura.
Bengaluru-based business banking platform Infinity has secured $1.9 million (about Rs 16 crore) in equity funding from Y Combinator, Liquid 2 Ventures, Script Capital and angel investors such as Alan Rutledge, Justin Hamilton and Samvit Ramadurgam.
Climate tech startup Sustainiam has raised $1.45 million (about Rs 12.14 crore) in its maiden funding round led by Orios Venture Partners, along with participation from Indian actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Rajesh Sawhney, Harsh Vardhan Bhagchandka, and Vinit Bhansali.
Fintech startup Navanc has raised $1 million in its seed round led by Prarambh Ventures, with participation from Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), Brigade REAP FirstPort Capital, and marquee angel investors.
Skill-gaming platform Mobile Premier League (MPL) has acquired a significant stake in Lumikai-backed CloudFeather Games.
