Amazon takes on India rivals with Bazaar, a low-cost fashion store
Amazon has quietly introduced a “special store” called Bazaar in India, featuring affordable and trendy fashion and lifestyle products, as it ramps up efforts against Walmart-owned Flipkart and Reliance’s Ajio, which have made deeper inroads in the Indian fast-fashion market. The world’s largest e-commerce firm has rolled out the new store on its India Android app.
Ather launches new family e-scooter ‘Rizta’
Ather has launched its new family-oriented electric scooter, the Rizta in India. This is their all-new scooter in years and joins the Ather 450-series electric scooters in the company's portfolio. The Rizta is available in two variants- S and Z.
Royal Enfield to invest ₹1,000 cr in EVs, petrol bikes
Eicher Motors, the maker of Royal Enfield motorcycles and part of the Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicle joint venture, plans to invest ₹1,000 crore this financial year to build its first electric motorcycle factory and also expand its current portfolio of petrol-driven motorcycles.
METRO completes ₹2,850 cr deal with Reliance Retail to sell its India Cash & Carry business
German retailer METRO AG announced the completion of the sale of its Indian cash & Carry business to Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd (RRVL), which holds the retail empire of Reliance Industries Ltd.
Funding Deals
Aerospike, an IT company specialising in real-time NoSQL data solutions, has secured a $109 million growth capital investment in a funding round led by Sumeru Equity Partners. Existing investor Alsop Louie Partners also participated.
Sportstech platform Hudle has raised Rs 7 crore in its pre-Series A round led by Inflection Point Ventures and Sky Impact Capital. The round also saw participation from Survam Partners and Anay Ventures.
