Apple plans to manufacture iPhone 14 in India📱
Two months after the iPhone 14 is first made available in China, Apple Inc. intends to begin producing the device in India.
Apple has long made most of its iPhones in China and has been seeking alternatives amid the Chinese government's clashes with the US and other factors including recent lockdowns to curb the spread of the virus.
According to the report, which cited people with knowledge of the situation, the company has been collaborating with suppliers to increase production in India and reduce the time it takes to produce new iPhones from the usual six to nine months for previous launches.
While in the short term, India's iPhone capacities/shipments still have a considerable gap with China, it is an important milestone for Apple as it will be building a non-Chinese iPhone production site.
Multiple firms in contention to buy gaming company Smaaash🎳
Nazara Technologies, Malpani Group, Manikchand Group, and Tech Connect Services are among 15 companies in the fray for acquiring Smaaash Entertainment, a sport-centric digital entertainment company undergoing insolvency proceedings.
Nazara Technologies, which is backed by late billionaire Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s Rare Enterprises, and the Malpani Group that recently acquired Manmohan Shetty-owned theme park operator Adlabs Entertainment, are the two prominent applicants.
Smaaash is promoted by Shripal Morakhia, who formerly owned stockbroking-cum-investment firm SSKI-Sharekhan. The gaming company is also backed by cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who had received sweat equity of 4.2% when the company was launched.
Smaaash, which launched operations in 2012, has 12 entertainment centres in ten cities and three more centres are under development. The total area of its existing centres is 1,50,000 sq ft.

The company has over 221 million subscribers, of which less than 1% play its mobile games.
