Google CEO Sundar Pichai visits Indian Embassy🤝🏻
In a first, Google chief executive officer (CEO) Sunder Pichai visited the Embassy of India in the American capital of Washington DC and held discussions with India's Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, on various aspects of the tech company's activities in the country, particularly its aggressive push towards digitisation.
"Thank you" Ambassador Sandhu for the great conversation, Pichai said in a tweet after his visit to the Indian Embassy in downtown Washington DC late last week. This is for the first time that a top Indian American tech CEO has visited the embassy here.
It has announced an investment of about $10 billion under Google for India digitisation. It also has partnerships with Reliance's Jio and with Bharti Airtel. In addition, it is partnering with India on workforce development and skill development. They are working with the government on Digital India Program, and national digital literacy mission.
Paytm tokenises over 52M cards across VISA, Mastercard and RuPay🗃️
One97 Communications, that owns the brand Paytm, on Monday said that it has now tokenized over 93 percent of the monthly active cards on the Paytm app. With this, the company has made significant progress in the card-on-file tokenisaton initiative by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The company has tokenised 52.3 million cards across Visa, Mastercard and RuPay in its effort to make card transactions safer and drive convenience for consumers. This brings with it faster checkouts, as well as success rates that are at par or higher compared to saved cards, the company said in a statement.
With this, the company said it remains on track to meet RBI’s deadline to purge saved card data ahead of the RBI deadline.

Good Glamm in talks to acquire Twinkle Khanna's Tweak India👩🏻
The Good Glamm Group is in talks to pick up a majority stake in a digital content firm founded by Bollywood actor Twinkle Khanna.
If the transaction of Tweak India goes through, it will be the 11th acquisition by the content-to-commerce company.
Tweak India is a female-focused multimedia platform across text, video, podcasts, radio, and event formats, with a focus on wellness, beauty, and an eco-friendly lifestyle.
Following the acquisition, Tweak India will be housed under Good Media Co, led by Priyanka Gill. Khanna will continue to lead Tweak India as its CEO, the sources said.
